Chairman (Independent Director)

Mr. Gupta has vast experience in the financial services sector of over 43 years. He retired as Managing Director from State Bank of India (“SBI”). During his stint with SBI group, he looked after retail banking, digital banking, risk and compliance functions, treasury, international banking, investment banking and private equity. He was also nominated by SBI on the Boards of various subsidiaries of the Bank as a nominee director. He is currently part-time Non-Executive Chairman of National Securities Depository Limited and of Future Generali India Insurance Company Limited. He is also an Independent Director on the Boards of Utkarsh Small Finance Bank Limited, Bank of India Investment Managers Private Limited, India Shelter Finance Corporation Limited and Protium Finance Limited. He has also been appointed as member of the Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Management, Raipur. Mr. Gupta is a former Chairman of Foreign Exchange Dealers Association of India (FEDAI). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Guru Nanak Dev University and is an associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He is also a certified associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. He was a member of the expert committee on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, headed by Mr. U.K. Sinha, former Chairman of the SEBI, constituted by RBI.

Mr.Amardeep Singh Samra

Managing Director

Mr. Amardeep Singh Samra is a seasoned financial services professional with over three decades of experience, including more than 15 years at the helm of Midland Microfin Limited. An early advocate of financial inclusion, he pioneered the microfinance model in Punjab and subsequently led Midland’s expansion across multiple states, helping shape the Company into a technologyenabled NBFC-MFI with a growing national presence. Since joining Midland in 2010, Mr. Samra has been central to the Company’s growth and institutional development. His leadership has focused on building a strong management team, strengthening governance and risk frameworks, and embedding responsible lending practices across the organisation. He has also championed the use of technology to improve operational efficiency and credit discipline, including the introduction of centralised credit sanctioning, digital and cashless disbursements, and centralised credit risk monitoring. With experience spanning finance, marketing and administration, Mr. Samra brings a broad perspective to Midland’s long-term strategy. His approach combines measured growth with strong governance, customer protection and technology-led innovation, with a continued focus on building a resilient and scalable institution. Mr. Samra has also contributed to the wider microfinance ecosystem through his association with the Microfinance Institutions Network (MFIN), the industry association and Self- Regulatory Organisation for India’s microfinance sector. He has previously served as a coordinator for the Punjab & Haryana Finance Companies Association (PHFCA), contributing to industry engagement and dialogue at the regional level. Beyond his professional interests, Mr. Samra is passionate about photography, art and architecture. His work has featured in regional and international photography exhibitions, and he is a member of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) and the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS). An avid runner and cyclist, he regularly participates in marathons and cycling events. He is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), Punjab Chapter.

Mr. Santokh Singh Chhokar

Non-Executive Director

Mr. Santokh Singh Chhokar graduated in medical and social sciences from the University of London and subsequently completed the Law Society’s Post Graduate Diploma in Law and passed the Law Society’s Finals with honours in 1992. While at university, he was involved in student union activities and was elected president of the National Union of Asian Students two years in succession. Since 1994, Mr Chhokar has been a senior partner at Chhokar & Co Solicitors, which is based in the United Kingdom, with associate offices in the United Arab Emirates. He is an accredited Will Writer registered with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Mr Chhokar is a longstanding member of the Solicitors’ Family Law Association and the International Bar Association. Mr Chhokar has extensive knowledge and experience in business matters generally and SMEs in particular. Mr Chhokar has served as Honorary Treasurer and President of the Middlesex Law Society. He takes an active interest and participates in community affairs. Mr Chhokar has served as Chairman of the Trustees of the Sikh Missionary Society (UK) and General Secretary of the India Association and the Sikh Forum International. He has acted as a legal adviser to various charities and as a governor of several schools. Mr Chhokar has a long track record of involvement in local government, having served as Chairman of South Bucks District Council for two years. On Buckinghamshire Council he served as a Councillor and as Chairman of Denham, Gerrards Cross and Chalfonts Community Board. In recognition of this service he has been elected Honorary Alderman of Buckinghamshire Council. Mr Chhokar’s Family has been settled in the United Kingdom since 1950’s but has retained a strong and enduring relationship with India. Mr Chhokar is active in supporting his family’s philanthropic projects and initiatives (including women empowerment, sports and education) in the United Kingdom, India and United Arab Emirates.

Mr. Sachin Kamath

Nominee Director

Mr. Sachin Kamath is a global asset manager with over four decades of experience managing equity investments across a diverse range of sectors and stages of business growth. He is a founding member of Kitara Capital, a prominent global equity investment firm with offices across India, Oman & UAE. At Kitara, he focuses on a sectoragnostic approach to identifying and investing in Indian businesses – both listed and unlisted. Prior to establishing Kitara Capital, Mr. Kamath worked at ICICI Bank Limited, post which he held roles across investments and strategy across India and Oman, including serving as the Chief Investment Officer of the Ajit Khimji Group of Companies. He is a Chartered Accountant by qualification.

Mr. Shant Gupta

Non-Executive and Non-Independent Director (Additional Director)

Mr. Shant Kumar Gupta brings over 30 years of experience in corporate governance, business leadership and strategic management, with significant exposure to the NBFC sector. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Hamco Ispat Private Limited, a company engaged in the manufacturing and trading of iron, steel and hand tools. He holds a postgraduate degree in Economics and has extensive experience across general business operations and finance functions. Mr. Gupta is also the Founder and Chairman of Hamco Charitable Trust, a non-governmental organisation focused on providing free computer education to underprivileged and needy students. He was previously associated with the Company as an Independent Director, bringing valuable institutional knowledge and experience to the Board. His extensive experience further strengthens the Board's collective expertise in financial discipline, strategic planning, risk management and corporate governance, which are critical to the effective governance and sustainable growth of a NBFC.

Mr. Ashwani Kumar Jindal

Independent Director

Mr. Ashwani Kumar Jindal is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and a practicing Chartered Accountant with over 26 years of rich professional experience. He possesses extensive knowledge and expertise in NBFC audits, RBI-related matters, Income Tax and GST litigation, and regulatory and financial matters. He has served as the Central Statutory Auditor of Amritsar Central Co-operative Bank for several years, gaining significant experience in the banking and financial services sector. Mr. Jindal has been actively associated with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and has served as a Co-opted Member of various Central Committees of ICAI since 2016, including the Internal Audit Standards Board, Committee for Members in Industry & Business, and the Board of Studies (Academic & Operations). He is presently serving as a Co-opted Member of the Board of Studies (Operations) of ICAI. He has also made significant contributions to the profession at the regional level. He served as Chairman of the Jalandhar Branch of NIRC of ICAI in 2006, 2009 and 2013–14. Mr. Jindal is a Founder Member and General Secretary of the Chartered Accountants Association and also serves as the General Secretary of the Income Tax & GST Bar, Jalandhar. Through his professional and institutional engagements, he has been actively contributing to the advancement of the Chartered Accountancy profession and the broader areas of taxation, audit, banking and financial services.
